The Cueto might be a solid buy if there’s the chance of an autograph offering later in the season, if you’re really interested in Clete Thomas, pick up his 2006 Bowman Chrome RC’s.

Perfect into the 6th inning, Cueto surrendered a solo home run to fellow prospect turned major leaguer Justin Upton in just his first big league start. Cueto would end up pitching 7 innings with the HR being the only hit, 10 K’s, with an awesome 68 of his 92 pitches as strikes. Zero walks (stats courtesty of espn.com).

Fortunately for Cueto, the Reds bullpen was able to hang on long enough to give the 22 year old righty a win in his first major league start.
